"Sour Scribblets" Candy box Package Design

This is my most recent project I did for a candy company I made up. I had an idea for a candy that would also work as a tool for drawing and then decided to design the whole box. For this innovative candy I needed a box to show children how exactly it works while also having an eye catching design.

 

The only way to make “Scribblets” successful was to make it stand out against all the other candy brands. In order to do this I started with finding the right colors, I needed bright colors that would attract customers. I decided on a split complimentary color scheme with colors that reflected the tasty sweet and sourness of the candy. It was important that this box would be very child friendly. I designed many tiny characters using illustrator throughout the piece that would help keep kids interested and move them through each side of the box.

 

As a kid and even to this day my favorite part of every food store is the candy section. When making this I thought about what candies draw my eye when I’m looking at all these different kinds. I believe that it doesn’t always matter how good the product is it won’t sell unless it’s branded right.
