"SunnyAwaits" Business Identity

I made this project for my portfolio class for my final project at NCC. My goal was to make a business identity for "SunnyAwaits", a company that finds you nice and cheap vacation getaways. For the business identity I had to make a letterhead, business card, and a cover letter.

 

My first idea for this project was actually using the diagonal negative space between “y” and “A” to create a design. Then I had to think of a name that would allow me to execute that idea. I decided on “SunnyAwaits” and used that negative space to make a palm tree. In the logo I made 3 elements that I would then use throughout each part of the business identity. I chose these elements because I wanted “SunnyAwaits” to appear as a calm, friendly business that would make finding a vacation getaway stress-free.

 

This project and my teacher’s critiques really taught me to keep going back to my artwork to find parts that could be better. There’s a big difference from when I first thought I was done verses when I was actually done. From then on I always made sure to keep revisiting my design and making as much changes as I could.
